Why does reminisart print on vinyl?
Our reminisart collages are printed large to ensure visibility from anywhere in the room, filling spaces with life and colour. Traditional paper options that won’t rip at that size are expensive, difficult to hang, and not permitted in home care settings. Vinyl is affordable when printed big while being easy to apply — an important consideration for when you can’t be there to install your loved one’s reminisart yourself.
A reminisart can be applied to most surfaces — no tools required. Unlike traditional photo frames, which can quickly accumulate dust and bacteria or cause injury if the hardware becomes compromised and the picture falls over, using medical-grade vinyl ensures that each room features a showstopping centerpiece that won’t violate the safety regulations in Chapter 11 of the Retirement Homes Act, 2010.

When should I get a paper print instead? Will I need to provide framing?
Vinyl does not apply as well to wallpaper or unpainted bricks as it does to other surfaces; the underlying texture of the wall can show through. In this case, we recommend a paper print instead. We’ve sized our smaller prints to fit commonly available frame dimensions. Always be sure to check with your loved one’s residence to see if there are any restrictions for appropriate framing and hardware.
How do I ensure high-quality, high-resolution pictures for my reminisart?
For digital photos, pick images that are in-focus and high resolution. Do not compress the files.
For print photos, choose pictures that are clear and free of creasing, fading, or tearing. When scanning, be sure to optimize your settings — for best results, we suggest unedited jpegs between 300 and 600 dpi. To learn more about digitizing your photos, read our detailed guide.
Is reminisart only for seniors living in care?
No! While reminisart does offer a wealth of benefits for seniors living in care, a reminisart makes a wonderful gift for a young adult living in a dorm, a friend or relative that’s far away, or a caregiver who would love some extra appreciation.
What’s your shipping policy?
All packages are shipped directly from our Canadian printer in compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols. To ensure we are reducing our environmental impact, all our packaging and shipping materials are paper-based.
Will you provide a refund on my purchase?
To ensure that you are fully satisfied with your product, we provide you with a proof prior to printing. We want you to be delighted with your reminisart! If you are unsatisfied, contact our customer service team and we’ll work to make things right.
